And speaking of Halloween...

The costume contest at the club is for children only, but Mike got an honorable mention in the club newsletter, LOL.

Guess who he is?

This is even more funny because:

1. we are Alabama fans, ROLL TIDE!

2. Tommy is a fellow member at the club so he gets this newsletter at his house just like us.

We assumed he was too busy to read the club newsletter during football season, but not to worry...someone showed it to him. And believe me, even though we are going to beat AU on NOV 29th, he is still a very polite nice guy, he would never be mad. However he did tell the person that showed it to him that he would take it up with Hilyer next time he saw him. He really has a good sense of humor since, especially since this is the second time we have had a few laughs on him. At least we cheer for AU when they are not playing UA!!!

Halloween 2008

OK, OK, I know, I didn't make the best costume ever this year. But how could I top last year's 'Chinese Elvis' (see old posts for photos)! I did offer several options of a pink bunny. She wanted to be a pink bunny b/c her little lovey that she carries around is a little pink bunny and she wanted to look like that. She picked each piece, even the ears and tail. The ears were a constant menace...

With me being such a perfectionist and Mike expecting it look as great as last years costume we were both let down, especially when we took her to the country club costume party. But she still looked cute as ever. She was oblivious and loved her costume. She also finally came into that sweet tooth we thought (and hoped) she would never get. She wanted to stay out trick or treating but we were cold. We T & T by golf cart and it was breezy!

Ashley's first fish!

We went to visit some friends at their fishing lodge and Ashley got to catch her first fish, she wasn't nearly impressed as we were...but the little ham did like getting her picture with it. She, being the germophobe and overclean kid that she is did NOT want to touch it. YUCK!

Back to Bible Study

She is so excited to go to Community Bible Study, she has many friend in her class that she knows from both church sundays and her preschool. I teach the 4/5 yr olds and she does not like if I come into her class to get anything (glue, paper,etc), she makes sure to tell me, "it IS NOT time to go yet!".

Back to School

Ashley started back to preschool and was so excited to see her friends fromt he last two years!

Travel Group Reunion 2008

Once a year and twice sometimes (at Chinese New Year time too) our little group of 7 families that all traveled together to China to get our daughters reunion in the late summer. This year, we met again in Gulf Shores at one of the families homes. They so graciously let us have it there every year and we all have a great time swimming and eating.

Order of the girls on the couch: Tori and Kati (twins, the oldest), Ashley, Ella, Annabella, Jade, Josie (the youngest).

For the first time this year the girls really played together, interacted. Really I guess us adults expect them to love eachother, they did live together the first 9 months of their lives int he same room! But since they only see one another twice a year, they are really like strangers. This year afew remembered the other ones from February when we saw the group for the CNY parade and they all got along well.

The jones family have a red couch so we recreate our famous 'red couch' picture with the girls. One family did not get to attend this year, they live far away in the NE, they were missed!

GO DAWGS!

Ashley got her picture taken with Alabama's winningest active coach in Class 6A with a 272-76-1 record, Spence McCracken. Or as she says 'coach comcracken'. He lives across the street from us and lovingly agreed to have his picture with her for the 2008 Bulldog football program that they sell at games for his final football season before retiring.

It was starting to rain so we were in a hurry but she was quit the champ. She wanted to know where his football outfit was, she just doesn't get the concept of the coach and teammate...

She will be going with us to Bulldog stadium for home games, we have had her screaming for the last two seasons...GO DAWGS. Last season she would say all as one sentence, "Go Dawgs, touchdown awabama wolltide". At least she has covered all of her teams.

Gotcha Day 2008

July 3rd is our anniversary of becoming a family! As of July 3rd, we have had Ashley for 3 years. As usual we went out to eat Chinese food. Then we went to the pet store, because she likes to see the caged animals...

Trip to the pool!

With the cost of gas we have to go where we don't use the car...which is the pool, that we get to via golf cart! Here is Ashley's pool coverup, made from two hand towels, she is still so tiny for nearly age 4!

New Cousin for Ashley-Meet Anna Jaymes!

My Sister had a baby girl, her name is Anna Jaymes. She looks just like my sister did when she was this age. I can't wait to hold her, she looks beautiful!

New Grand Baby-Kinsley!

Ain't she cute! Mike's daughter had Kinsley January 8th! She is a good sweet baby.

Misti the Puppy

NO, we did not get a puppy. Ashley's Grandma Joy and Poppa Louie (mike's parents) did get a new Shih Tzu, Misti, 6 weeks old.

Well, trip to the mall for Easter bunny pic didn't turn out to well...she refused to smile, actually she kinda got stiff and acted like she had stage fright from all the other families watching her get her picture.

Ashley's preschool had a Pajamas Day because they were learning "God made the night. Genesis 15-17".

She wore Dora pajamas and carried her sleeping bag. At school they watched a movie, ate popcorn all while sitting in their sleeping bags.

Meet Ashley's sisters new baby, Kinsley! She is tiny and so cute! Ashley was so excited to go visited but was a little disappointed she could not tickle the baby.

Obviously, Kinsley was having a better hair day than Ash...

Preschool Christmas Program 2007

Ashley decided (on her own) to be add a solo in the the little classes Christmas program. She loved that twirly dress. Anyone know where I can buy another one next year, it was a gift?

Santa 2007

This is the first sitting with Santa. We have been several time over the years but she would not get near him. This year, she was more than ready. She told him she wanted 10 gifts, apparently she did not understand that you were suppose to list them.

Ashley was Elvis for Halloween. She came in second at 2 costume contests. Actually she and her dog Quigley came in 2nd in the City Howl o'ween contest. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride...

She said she was a 'Chimese Elbis'.
